Sports Management Intern

The Sports Management Intern(s) will assist in the day-to-day operations of all sports leagues and events. Duties will include league supervision, inventory management, staff management, customer service and more. The internship may require daytime, evening and weekend hours, with some degree of flexibility, since the majority of sports programs take place during the evenings on weekdays and throughout the day on weekends. Applicants should be business, recreation or physical education majors looking to work on the operations side of sports. This is a PAID internship with a $500 stipend per month. 


Assist in planning and running Women’s Sports Chicago leagues, clinics, tournaments and events

Supervise leagues for a variety of different sports

Sometimes assist League Coordinators by delivering equipment to league locations & helping with set-up

Assist in processing and collecting team payments, individual payments and team down-payments

Provide excellent customer service on site and via email

Manage equipment and T-shirt inventory

Socialize and promote the WSC Brand

Assist the League Coordinators with player recruitment efforts

Monitor and maintain strong working relationships with League Sponsors

Inform players about upcoming WSC leagues, clinics, tournaments and special events

Regularly communicate with the Executive Director, League Coordinators, and other Management Staff


Degree or enrolled towards a degree in business, sports management, physical education, community development or a similar field.

Ability to work ~30 hours per week, split between office hours at a convenient location to be determined by you and our leadership and on-site at league events

Must be organized, on-time, friendly, outgoing and interested in answering questions & socializing

Must have a account & personal computer

Preferred Candidate Strengths:

Experience officiating, umpiring or playing at an organized level: High School, College, Club, Adult League

Experience in hosting events at the club or community level

Access to a personal vehicle, proof of auto insurance and a valid driver’s license
