Smoothie Snack Attack!


Every quality Dietitian knows that the key to a successful meal or snack is BALANCE. When we create snacks we always want to have a carbohydrate and protein combination. Also, we want our recipes to be nutrient rich, meaning for the given portion size we are having we want to power pack as many nutrients in as possible. Adding fruits and/or vegetables to your meals and snacks is a great way to amp up the nutrients! Our first recipe blog is a very simple smoothie with 3 ingredients. 


Today I started with Fairlife Milk (If you haven't tried it - it has more protein than regular milk per cup, less sugar, and lactose free for my sensitive stomach people out there). I added a full banana, and some Smart Balance peanut butter. I really like the smart balance blend because it contains flaxseed oil, providing needed Omega-3 fatty acids to our diets (320 mg!)

Choco-Peanut Butter Smoothie



1 cup chocolate milk

1 tbsp peanut butter

1 banana



Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. ENJOY!
